Opinions About Forum Contest

Hey,

I'm planning a contest for my forum. It will be a referral contest and I'm thinking of having it run for 6 months. Whoever has the most referrals after 6 months will win an iPod Touch. There will probably be prizes for 2nd and 3rd place also.

I'm wondering if people think 6 months is too long but I think that since the prize is going to be expensive then 6 months is good. I don't want to get half way through the contest and then have it stop, but I'm hoping, as people start making referrals more and more people will want to join in on the contest and it will just keep going (but that may be getting my hopes up).

That's my opinion though, I'd like to hear yours.

That's a good idea, but it also depends how many users you got right now. If you only got like 0-20 its not a good idea. But if you have 50+, go for it.
