External link are links that don't point to another page on your website. So they are links to or from another website. The more links to your site you have the better your pageranking.

right, an external link is when somebody else's site links to your site. it should be a relevant link, like, if it's for the chao club then it would help if it's from a game site or a sonic site... any link is better than no link though.

You can get external link by exchanging links with.
e.g. You could put a link from your website to my website and i will put a link to your website.
