[REQ] free Photoshop Alternative

I'm offering 100 points to the first one who can tell me (and give me a link) to a free Photoshop alternative. I need something that works just like Photoshop, as that as what I'm used to but I need it to be free since Photoshop is like $600 and I'm not paying that much. I did the trial version of it, but it only lasted for two days, and it was pretty good, but not worth $600. So the first one who can get me a link to the best Photoshop Alternative will receive 100 points.

Paint shop pro is a good program too, but it's paid.

Ya, I think I have Paint Shop Pro, but it's a little bit older, and I don't particularly like it's interface though. For now I've downloaded Paint.NET but haven't tried it yet. If I like it, chougard will receive the points.

Chougard is right; Paint.NET is the greatest freeware photoshop available on the Internet as of now.
