I heard about this, it looks great. I wonder if they will actually go through with it.

Ohh theres no doubt that they'll go through with it but the question is when and how. Google doesnt have to worry about the monetary side of it they will eventually make a profit and they can afford to sit on it for 10 years unlike other companies.

You might want to find an NDT server in CA to test that connection. Flash tests don't run long enough to measure such speeds.
