Or just hit shutdown and walk away, or even just leave your PC on!
    Thanks,

Im not so sure i trust doing anything in regedit. If the manufactures wanted this to happen they would do it themselves. Plus i dont think i would suggest it. When you shut down your computer, your computer is saving the cache so it knows what you did in the last running of the computer. if you shut it down to fast, it wont have time. This is also relative to pulling the plug or pressing the power button. As for shutdown, im on my computer all the time so sleep(standby) works best for me...

I normally don't mess with shut down variables in Windows, it's rather touchy depending on what you're running when you start messing with such settings. System shuts down within 6 seconds when I ever do shut it down (It's powered on fully 24/7 Folding and gaming). Did that back when I ran Vista and had it up for months at a time without reboot (except for Windows updates) and now with Windows 7.

unfortunately the chances are that if your computer is taking its time to shut down then it is probably doing something important...that value is a last resort just incase some application/service has fallen over.

If I helped you out then don't forget to give me rep

Open REGEDIT and navigate to ‘HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\’
    Highlight the ‘WaitToKillAppTimeout’ value.
    Set it to ‘1000′.
    Now highlight the ‘HungAppTimeout’ value
    Set it to ‘1000′ also.

The second part of this tip changes the same settings, this time for all users on the system.

Open REGEDIT and navigate to ‘HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control

    Panel\Desktop’
    Highlight the ‘WaitToKillAppTimeout’ value.
    Set it to ‘1000′.
    Now highlight the ‘HungAppTimeout’ value.
    Set it to ‘1000′ also.

In the third part of this tip, we will alter a second registry setting to decrease the amount of time Windows XP will wait before shutting down active services after receiving a shut down command.

    Open REGEDIT and navigate to

    ‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contr ol\’

    Highlight the value ‘WaitToKillServiceTimeout’

    Change this value to ‘1000.’
