Reverting a dynamic disk back to basic disk

At one point, partitioning my disk in Windows 7, it asked me whether I wanted to make the disk dynamic, and without researchng what this implied, I just clicked yes, probably because I was impatient .

Now I am trying to install Ubuntu and this is causing problems. Is there a way to revert it back to a basic disk without wiping it a doing a clean install? I do not seem to have any options to back up my data, and my computer did not come with a Windows 7 disk, just the recovery disks.

    Help is greatly appreciated,
    Shant

Is there a way to do this without backing up? Or should I wait 'till I have a 750GB external hard drive?

You could always download from Microsoft's website the iso for you windows 7 installation. Burn it and then reinstall/format/or whatever you need to do. Just make sure you copy your (CD/Installation) key before attempting a format/reinstall.

You can directly revert dynamic disk to basic by 3rd party software. As i know, with a tool (Dynamic disk converter) help, you can do the conversion without wiping data. An article was found in google about "convert dynamic disk to basic with three ways".
