    Bringing back to life an old Pentium III

    Like Frankenstein's revival, I just started a new proyect, My old Pentium III machine has reached their final, so in a wastre of time, I bringing new life, new PCI USB connectors, a general cleanup, new mouse and keyboard, external memory, and Xubuntu, when I complete the refit I tell you guys the result.

    boot a livecd of slitaz for speed. it will be faster than xubuntu, but i do like xubuntu. i have read than xubuntu's version of xfce actually uses slightly more memory than gnome, only because they modified it to have some gnome compatibilities -- otherwise xfce should be smaller and faster.

    I did something similar to this, I put ubuntu server on my old pIII box and now it just sits there and runs torrents/serves files on my network
