BTW here are best three linux distros:-
1.Ubuntu 11.04 and 11.10
2.Fedora
3.Arch
Debian would be more stable than Ubuntu, in my opinion.

PC-BSD is way more stable that Ubuntu imo as well
yeah but Ubuntu is much better for the first timer
using slackware, debain or any rpm base derivative will require the user to be knowledgeable so these linuxes aren't for first timers. Ubuntu is for newbies.
Don't forget, BSD is Unix. Although extremely similar unix is not linux and vice versa.
