printer networking without leaving a domain

I have a laptop that I use for work, and it is in my work's network domain. When I go home, I cannot join my home network's workgroup, because that would require me to leave my work's network domain. (I can't leave my work's network domain, because I can't rejoin it by myself... I would need the IT department to do it). So since I can't join my home network, I can't share files or share printers. I can easily get around sharing files, but it's annoying when I can't connect to my home printer through my home network. Does anyone know a way to print to a networked printer without being in that network's workgroup? I can ping my home computer that is sharing the printer, but I just can't connect to the printer because I'm not in the network workgroup.

Try getting into the computer that is sharing the printer by opening the windows explorer and going to //computer-name-that-is-sharing-the-printer/

I already tried that ( \\computername\ ). However, it doesn't work... probably because I'm not in the network workgroup. But then I tried \\computeripaddress\, and that actually worked! For example, I typed \\192.168.1.104\, which is the local ip address. Thanks for the help.

Try to add a workgroup for your house,

or create a profile and switch to it when you get home.

Yeah, creating a Windows profile would probably work. I already have a workgroup for my house. The problem is that if I leave my work's domain to join my house's workgroup, I can't rejoin my work's domain.
