Microsoft Surface - Next generation computing.

    Microsoft Surface................
Microsoft has brought a new product to the market and its called as Microsoft surface. It looks just like an ordinary table until its switched on. Once its switched on, it can do awesome jobs.

I sure hope it isn't the next generation of computing.. I'd hate to play video games while touching the screen!

I'd prefer a mouse over that any day IMO.

This isn't really anything groundbreaking - we've had touch screens and Nintendo DSes for how long now? - but all the same, it's nice to know Microsoft can actually come up with something decent once in a while. Though I'm with Spartan Erik; I'd still prefer a mouse and keyboard any day.

Looks incredible, I saw something demonstrating this about a year ago though so it took them a while to release it. It may not seem amazing just because its a touch screen, but if you look at all the features it much more advanced than the iphone, and I like and it automatically connects to some of your gadgets once you set them down on top of it.

I'm with spartan, but not entirely - some games are indeed best played with a keyboard and mouse.

But they do make flash based puzzles like the puzzles you get at stores (you know, the 100 piece ones, 200, 303, 500, etc.) - THAT would be friggin' awesome on a giant touch screen cause it'd be as easy as downloading a new puzzle without going to the store to buy it, and yet for the most part you could put it together the same way.

Games like Trauma Center would absolutely thrive on this too, or RTS's, or web browsing, or...Ya know just about anything - could probably make that table have a virtual touch-based keyboard and a touch pad (like the ones on laptops), cept that touchpad would be huge compared to a laptop :P

Still I wanna know the price tag - something tells me I could ebay everything in this room and not have enough to get it :happysad:

well, Im not sure if there is a price tag right now since it comes out this spring. But if it is expensive, then Im sure there going to have a virtual keyboard and touch pad, or even a spot to place your palm on and move it like your holding a mouse.

I dont think businesses will buy into this. It's too much of an investment, for some guy to spill coffee on it or something
