Fastest Internet Speeds in your area

Hey guys, here's another internet topic from me again. Pretty much, you tell us what's available in your area for broadband internet, and the max speed you can possibly get in your area. Also, if you can, tell us what kind of internet it is, such as Cable, DSL, Fiber, etc. Please keep T1s, T3s, OC-* connections out of this as those can be located everywhere. Dial-up and ISDN is allowed, ONLY if it is the only thing available to you other than T1, T3, OC-*... Also, like me you can list all of the different types of connections available/soon to be available to your home and list the top speeds as well.

Here's what's in my area. Fiber is coming to my area this summer, so right now Roadrunner will give the fastest connection on non-peak hours.

    DSL (2 providers).
7.1Mbps/768Kbps (from Verizon for residents in equiped COs, and who live at least 1.5 miles of wire length from the CO , I have this speed and package).

6Mbps/768kbps (from Frontier/ Citizens Communications, will offer this much like the speed and distance Verizon gives, but their default package in my area is 3Mbps/386Kbps).

    Cable: (one provider)
Time Warner Cable: Roadrunner Turbo (speeds up to 15Mbps/2Mbps on DOCSIS 1.1).

Fiber Optic (soon to be in my area, this summer)
    Verizon FiOS: 30Mbps/15Mbps GPON Fiber

    Wireless: (several providers)
Can obtain speeds over EVDO/G3 cell phone towers near symmetrical 1.5Mbps/1.5Mbps, at the cost of latency.

    Satellite: A few providers
Can get speeds up to 1.5Mbps, unsure about upload. Latency is bad many times.

My area has a lot of things to do in order to get the right speed but we have ADSL reaching speeds upto 2 MBPS. This year the telecom company plans to increase it upto 8 MBPS.

    Cable (1 provider)
    8 Mbit/down, doesn't advertise upload
    100GB/month bandwidth limit
    DSL (1 provider)
    7Mbit/down, also unknown upload
limit not advertised, but for an extra $25/month, you can remove monthly limits.

Probably other services too, but these are the two I know of. I don't think there are other consumer-level services, only those aimed at business.

I use the cable provider. DSL doesn't work in my neighbourhood. Also, its cheaper and faster.

There's two ISPs in my area.
    Telus (DSL)
offers up to 6000 down, 1000 up
    Shaw (Cable)
offers up to 10000 down, 2000 up.
Most people can only get 3000/768 with Telus though.

Those people probably have too great of a distance from their switching station to be able to hold the speed, unless they are close enough and can simply not get it in their area.

I also forgot to mention that all of the ISPs in my area, except for satellite are unlimited use ISPs. There is rumor going around on DSL Reports that Time Warner has caps planned, but I haven't heard anything else about that except in some parts of Texas where they are testing that.

Re: Fastest Internet Speeds in your area

    DSL: 4 providers - 0.3 - 24 mbps - I have 4 mbps atm

Fibreoptics: 1 provider - 100 mbps - not in my house thought - I hope I get this soon...

    Wireless: 3 providers - 0.3 - 7.2 mbps

Every ISP exept 1 has unlimited bandwidth. In sweden there is just 1 ISP that has limited
