    I am running Avast and it hasn't hinder the performance of my PC at all. It is a free anti-virus that was recommended in one of the PC mags.

    O.K. y'all like I said and it seems like no one is listening...
    all the new virus' disable the anti virus engine...
    evary single one of them
    can you hear me HELLO....
    anti virus' are in our day and age 100%
    useless


    maybe against some super basic virus O.K.
    but the new ones forget it...

    anyway I found this site that scans any suspect file on your computer
    with all the anti-virus' on the market....

    I have both antivir and avast and they dont consume much. I can play cod4, listen to music and defrag all at the same time with both antivir and avast without slowing my comp down.

    I had problems with AVG in the past.... AVG started screwing up and tried to delete a lot of files that weren't even viruses. So i don't use AVG anymore

    I've test driven all of the GOOD AV programs over the years and Avast beats them all. Get Avast and Mcafee Security Center (not Mcafee AV) going together and you've got a winning combination.

    No AV will detect everything, but Avast comes close.
    If all else fails, pull the plug!

    Avast is great, but I use AVG 8 because I have tons of cpu power to spare.
