    Control my drive speed?

Hi does anyone know a program (freeware pref) that can control my drive speed - like if i tell it to do 30x then it will spin at 30x for how long.

Nero is not on my list becase it does short bursts

    Anyone?

I don't know of any program that will do this, as drives can really only spin at certain speeds based on what it has to read/write. For example, in some parts of a CD/DVD, the drive has to spin slower in order to get the data, like if there is dirt on the disk or something. If you are burning, the speed will slowly go up as you reach the end of the disk. The only way I can think of doing this is by hacking the CD drive's firmware, which is something I honestly wouldn't do.

There are also open source burning software as well that are fully unrestricted too... check out www.sourceforge.net

I only know Nero DriveSpeed, but you tried it.

Or, I think I remember about an Asus utility, but it might be locked to Asus drives or mainboards.
