    Purchasing a LCD monitor

    Color and Contrast:
The Bulk of the panels are Twisted Nematic (TN) and are color and contrast deficient compared to Multi-domain Vertical Alignment (MVA) and Super In-Plane Switching (S-IPS).
    Widescreen:
Widescreen makes more sense today than before because nowadays more Multimedia Applications including games are supporting widescreen applications natively.
    Response Time:
Especially those into gaming will require a monitor will response time of less than 5ms to avoid ghosting. Be careful for gimmicks 2ms GTG = 10ms BTB.
Apart from that you should on the overall looks, size and price as per your convenience.
Also keep in mind an 8-bit panel is better than a 6-bit panel because to produce the same number of color a 6-bit panel uses dithering.

Hope you get the monitor of your choice:happysad:
