I've heard of it. I've heard it's better than the DNS servers that ISPs often times give out, but I don't use it. My ISP's DNS servers are pretty quick.

I've heard of it, I use it, and I love it.
In a nutshell, OpenDNS is good for filtering the content others on a network or single computer can view on the internet - you can block porn sites if you have kids who use the computer, or you can also tick the boxes for adware and phishing sites if you have friends who tend to click on every ad banner they see. There are also many other categories ranging from games to news and beyond... and if that's not enough, they also allow you to set up a whitelist and blacklist for individual websites.
On top of allowing you to filter content, it's pretty customizable (you can change the logo and messages shown when it blocks sites or can't find them, for example), not to mention fast and stable - I've never had the service drop on me, and there's no difference that I can notice between OpenDNS and my ISP's DNS servers.

Yeah it's great.
I've been using it for a couple of days and it has really helped my dial-up connection.

I've heard people that use OpenDNS claiming it to be amazing but I don't think much of it to be honest. The DNS servers at my ISP seem faster, and although they don't offer filtering, I can do that myself with DansGuardian acting as a proxy on a Linux machine, or K9 Web Protection for Windows.
In short, I don't really like it; but others may. I suppose in depends on your ISP and area and what you do online that affects your opinion, but it didn't work out for me.

I've been using OpenDNS ever since I heard about it over a year ago. I like it very much. The typo correction feature can be very nice. It is especially nice for a laptop that goes between different networks, you never have to worry about what DNS the network you are using will use…just set your machine to always use OpenDNS servers. (Of course if you want your customized OpenDNS you need to let OpenDNS know your new IP.) The service is reliable and easy to set up. If you're having trouble with your current DNS service or simply want to have a customizable experience give OpenDNS a try.
I don't like it because it is slower than my ISP.
Plus I don't care about blocking sites because FireFox does well with that.
