Useful, although I just tend to search Google when I need a program like that. That also means I get the most up-to-date version for the project site, not a mirror that might be out of date.

I've heard of FileHippo, but I'm more of a FileFront person. Seems to be a bit easier to find what I want there.

I normally use SourceForge for downloading stuff. But the quickest way is to use Google and just search for what you want.

I agree with TechAsh, there's a load of amazing open source software on SourceForge; you can find open source replacements for a lot of software there. http://sf.net/, you should check it out.
