Does Article writting Helpfull?

Is Article writting helpfull to increse PR? Can any one Describe me about Types of Articles?
To get PR3-5 in google what we have to do?
Right now we have a launched a new site http://www.oscommerceexperts.com/

Can anyone help me for this?

Hi,
A couple of quick points:

The site design is excellent

Uncertainty exists about the logo, osCommerce in some places, and OSCOMMERCE in others, better to have all with os in smaller letter everywhere

Run a spell checker - you have spelling errors - not impressive on a Commerce site

Articles can help get PR- put them on other forums, & places, with links to your site
