Email to SMS?

Hi

Is there a way to send an email, which someone converts to an SMS? Ive read a lot about them on the internet, with some providers claiming to do it for free, yet none of them seem to work? Im in the UK (probably the cause lol), but anyone know of a good free service that works?

I know of no way skype would work for this, that is for text/voice communication, not SMS. I have tried with 3, but they do not seem to accept the emails at all.

Depends what country you're in, but you're gonna want some sort of SMS Gateway:

It is a tricky one, as you do indeed need somebody to convert the email into an SMS and send it for you. I'm not surprised the 'free' services do not work. It costs most people money to send an sms

My telecom service provider has this feauture.
Whenever a mail is send to my e-mail address, i get free alert as SMS.

My Service provider: Idea Cellular

I'm not sure if my carrier, Verizon Wireless has SMS to e-mail, but they do have SMS to landline.
