Wiimote wii remote white board

Hi all: since this is a "general interest" forum I figured this was a worthwhile thread.

I'm trying to set up a functional wii remote white board (as per Johnny Lee's instructions http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~johnny/projects/wii/).

So far I've had reasonable success using a wiiremote, $6 BlueTooth dongles (BroadCom 2045B and 2035B chip sets) and dollar store LED light pen with an infrared LED from a dollar store universal remote.

I've had better luck with my Eee PC laptop running XP than on my Mac OS X running machines (tracking is spotty but it still works).

The next stage in my project is to either buy an IR pen online or build my own using the IR LEDs suggested by Johnny Lee).

Is anyone out there USING a wiimote whiteboard on a daily basis to do their work?

My goal is to get a "recipe" for the wiimote whiteboard to the point where it can be implemented with minimal effort by a tech savvy high school/grade school teacher in a classroom.

I built one of these for a friend. He uses it more for gaming than as a whiteboard app, but it is pretty neat. It costed me $20 worth of stuff to get it set up for him. Sure saves a lot of money over a SMARTBoard.

I've been playing around with and it seems to work. In case anyone stumbles across this thread, check out BoonJin's SmoothBoard. It works quite nicely.
