There's no option to add a backup service to free hosting. You'll need to make the backups manually your self.

Here is screen-shot of my file manager in stoli. I can't see mark box to select files or folders.

Just click the files/folders you want to add to the backup, holding down ctrl allows you to chose multiple files/folders.
The image in the guide is most likely from an older version of cPanel.
