Just create an AdSense account and put the script on your page -- 100% revenue-keeping!!! There is nothing keeping you from putting ads on your own site; x10hosting doesn't require ads, but it doesn't prohibit them either (well, unless they are offensive by reasonable community standards or illegal).

In short, Google adsense works, and it works well. The trick is driving ppl to your site so that someone will click the ad. Blogger is awesome for something like that... you don't even need to blog about relevant stuff, just blog and have an understanding of SEO. There's a lot more to it than that, but yeah, that's the basics of it.
