Optional Ads

I apologize in advance if this idea has already been suggested or if this is already implemented.

Is there a possibility of adding an "Optional Ads" feature to us users, where if activated, we would receive a code to put on our website, advertising x10hosting. My idea for the code is Google Ads or Clickbank, something that would bring in revenue to x10. The optional ads are optional, they give no reward to the user other than the satisfaction that they've helped out their hosting provider.

Please discuss.

I'm for it, we used to have a plan that required them but we've since gotten rid of that.

Would be nice to bring back the ad-code for those who -wanted- it though.

There was an affiliate program at one time but I believe it has been discontinued.
Some folks voluntarily put a small banner and a link just because they like x10Hosting.

I'm not really talking about an affiliate program, (though it would be nice) my thoughts were more focused on being helpful towards x10 for the service. I understand that creating my own banner saying "x10 is the best, unlimited everything would help" but I think monetary advertisements would help even more.

x10 has a large userbase, and a couple dozen of us who are feeling generous sure could help out.

So do you mean Google AdSense that, instead of paying the user, will pay the servers? I like that idea. I'd go for it

I'd be all for this, as long as no inappropriate ads started popping up. I've been at hosts where something similar to this was used, and because of the inappropriate content on the OTHER members websites, my website started to show some rather risqué ads that i really didn't want to be there. As long as nothing like that ever began to emerge from the community ad code, i'd love to help out x10!

We only use Google for our banner ads... however there isn't really enough people that would do this to make it worth implementing. Not that you guys don't have super awesome sites that would get a lot of traffic . It would just add to the overhead of managing an ad server, keeping software updated, etc... AND if we allow this and someone puts porn on their site or something similar it could jeopardize our Google account and is actually the reason we no longer allow users to get .x10hosting.com domains.

On another note, the affiliate system will be setup and working sometime in July so that is an easy way you can help us out and also earn some cash.

I'm in love with x10Hosting. I'm all on board for this!!!! If it will help my wonderful and generous host, I'd love to. I'm thinking of getting Premium or Illuminated soon. They are so good a free host, they make me want to spend money. LOL. I don't even care that Stoli has been down for a while, they treat us like human beings and provide updates. I♥x10Hosting. (That will be my new signature!)

There will be some premade banners available when I announce the affiliate thing. You can use them with your affiliate link to refer people to the main site.
