Note to WordPress users: get all over this support thread asking for a comment digest option and keep hammering at it. A handful of digest mails would serve the same purpose as the current notification system while greatly reducing the potential for mail servers to identify your site/domain as a spamhaus. Even in the world of customer service, timeliness in replying to comments and contact emails does not mean it has to happen in telephone or instant messaging time scales, and getting an update digest hourly, daily, or even a few times a day is more than adequate -- even if the comments require moderation before becoming visible.
