    Exclamation How to start?

    Hi guys,
I just signd up for a x10hosting website and went into file manager to begin my setup. I immediately deleted the index.html that was already present and uploaded another webpage that I had built previously under public/html. However, when I log on to my website online I am still seeing the default index.html. Am kinda perplexed, and being a newbie I need help on this. Thanks

Make sure you refresh the page/clear your cache, along with making sure the file is in the /public_html/ directory.

Your website: http://christmasgifts.elementfx.com/ loads fine for me. Your index.html redirects to the page "Welcome.html", which doesn't exist.

Do what the other members told you to do, and the page should load fine.

Go to your Cpanel. It would be here: http://www.christmasgifts.x10hosting.com:2082
And look for the File Manager button. ;)

remove all of the html or htm files that exist except the ones that start with vti_ and then re-upload your website

    Re: How to start?

The www is a link to public_html so you can upload to either directory but you should delete neither. The vti_ files are front page extentions and are likely there for the index.html file that you deleted. These files can take up space on your server. I would delete all front page files and folders and start from scratch. Because I dont use these files and I dont use the website builder I know I wont need them. You on the other hand use the site builder which might make sure of these; I wouldn't know how safe it is to delete them. You could always move them all in to one folder and if there is a problem move them back. You would move these files using an ftp client.
