Issues switching from subdomain to domain

I bought a domain (fatcatsnacks.com), I have it pointed to the x10 nameservers, I added it to addon domains, and in the account panel I've added it and unchecked "use subdomain". I get a message that I have been "queued" to change from the sub domain to domain, but when I look at "pending changes" my request is not listed, and the account panel still displays the x10 subdomain. It appears to work on the front end, but it doesn't look right from the back end.
What is the "proper" way to make that domain my root folder? Deep links display the x10 subdomain not my domain, is this changeable?

I've scoured the forums, and fiddled for days with the settings, what am I missing?
