Is it alright?

Would it be ok if I allow one of my frineds on my messenger in my Cpanel? I need help installing phpbb3 mods and he promises to help me so will it be fine? If I give him Cpanel access by telling him my infomation. I know I can trust him but would it be alright?

x10Hosting's Terms of Service:
1. Server Usage
Personal accounts are to be used by the primary owner only. Personal account holders are not permitted to resell, store or give away web-hosting services of their website to other parties. Web hosting services are defined as allowing a separate, third party to host content on the owner's web site. Exceptions to this include ad banners, classified ads, and personal ads. x10Hosting reserves the right to refuse service and/or access to its servers to anyone. Each individual is allowed ONE account only. x10Hosting does not allow any of the following content to be stored on its servers:
Illegal Material: This includes copyrighted works, commercial audio, video, or music files, and any material in violation of any Federal, State or Local regulation. You may not store copyrighted Mp3s on your webspace in any way shape or form.
Adult Material: Includes all pornography, erotic images, or otherwise lewd or obscene content. The designation of "adult material" is left entirely to the discretion of x10Hosting.
Warez: Includes pirated software, ROMS, emulators, phreaking, hacking, password cracking, IP spoofing, etc., and encrypting of any of the above. Also includes any sites which provide "links to" or "how to" information about such material.
Anime: Copyrighted anime is not allowed on our servers. This includes variations of anime including manga, hentai etc. Also includes any sites that provide links to information about such material. If you created the material yourself, you may host the content on your site.
Proxies: We do not allow proxies of any kind on our servers.
File Storage: x10Hosting accounts are not to be used for file storage, your account will be suspended if found to be hosting files for download. Downloads are only allowed on your x10Hosting account if they have to do directly with your website. e.g. you developed custom software and are selling it or giving it away. Accounts may not be used for mirrors, game file hosting, or any other type of file hosting not specified here.
Script Hosting:Scripts that run constantly or are called via cron more then once every 5 minutes are not allowed on the x10Hosting free packages. Any script running on your website must be directly related to what your site is about. We do not allow scripts that gather data from external sources, monitor sites\servers, or do any tasks that are not related to your website.
2. High Resource Usage Policy
Resources are defined as bandwidth and/or processor utilization. x10Hosting may implement the following policy to its sole discretion: When a website is found to be monopolizing the resources available x10Hosting, reserves the right to suspend that site immediately. This policy is only implemented in extreme circumstances and is intended to prevent the misuse of our servers. Customers may be offered an option whereby x10Hosting continues hosting the website for an additional fee.
3. Advertisement Policy (Applies only to Advanced & Corporate Plans)
We require advertisements to be placed on your website if you are using an ad-enhanced plan. This is a form of revenue for x10Hosting and helps us continue to offer free services like this one to you. You must follow the below terms in order to avoid suspension, or in extreme cases, termination of your hosting account. Advertisements are expected to be placed on a working site within one week of sign-up.
•Proper advertisements are required to be placed on each and every page of your website.
•Advertisements are to be placed in such a spot so that the end-user can view them without having to scroll down on the page.
•Advertisements must be placed on your site. They may not be placed on any pop-ups or pop-unders.
•The advertisement and its source code must be on your page entirely. The image or code for the advertisement must not be edited in anyway.
•You may not promote clicking of the advertisements on your web site.
4. Cancellation and Refunds
x10Hosting reserves the right to cancel the service at any time. In this event customers will be entitled to a prorated refund based upon the remaining period of membership. If a customer contravenes x10Hosting's terms of service, a refund will not be issued in the event of a cancellation. Customers may cancel their account at any time. Any incentives offered to customers when opening the account will also be cancelled. Customers may be given the option to purchase services which were offered as start-up incentives in the result of a cancellation. Fees charged on a prepay basis are non-refundable.
5. Indemnification
Customer agrees that it shall defend, indemnify, save and hold x10Hosting harmless from any and all demands, liabilities, losses, costs and claims, including reasonable attorney's fees asserted against x10Hosting, its agents, its customers, officers and employees, that may arise or result from any service provided or performed or agreed to be performed or any product sold by customer, its agents, employees or assigns. Customer agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless x10Hosting against liabilities arising out of:
(1) Any injury to person or property caused by any products sold or otherwise distributed in connection with x10Hosting's server;
(2) Any material supplied by customer infringing or allegedly infringing on the proprietary rights of a third party;
(3) Copyright infringement and
(4) Any defective products sold to customer from x10Hosting's server.
6. System Backups
Backups of all customer data are solely the responsibility of the client. x10Hosting does full nightly backups, these are to be used for system restore only, and are not tested for individual account backup. Any other questions on this policy should be directed to the staff.
7. Inactivity
Accounts found to be inactive are suspended for a 10-day period and then terminated. All data including any type of backup or stored information is removed with the account. To prevent an account from being suspended for inactivity it is required users visit the x10Hosting forums located at http://forums.x10hosting.com at least ONCE every TWO WEEKS. Accounts must also have a working website within one week.

Ok..I guess I wont have a promotion forums then but its..kinda sad that itsa agasint the rules for having help from frineds...thats what its telling me. :\

It's not that you can't have somone help you. The ToS is saying that you can't have someone doing the work for you. For example, if you ask here in the forums or on IRC "hey, how do I do this?" people can tell you how to do it, but then it's up to you to go and do it for youself on your own account. What's not allowed is to have someone log in to your account, do the work for you, and then have you turn around and say 'look at this cool thing that my website can do!', even if you give the other person the credit.

I'd have thought that x10 would turn a blind eye (so to speak) to you letting someone else use your access, providing that it was only so that they could help you with building your site, & providing that once their work was done, you changed your password so they could no longer access it.

I've heard of other people getting help this way on the forums.

However, this is just my opinion, so do so at your own risk!

I don't see that as the reason at all. No-one cares if someone else did the work for you. This isn't a website design competition site! Who do you think designed the templates some people use? It wasn't them!

I think the reason is more to do with fraud detection, & preventing people claiming that someone else uploaded something illegal, so they aren't responsible, etc.

Well then how can they help me install my modifications into my phpbb3 forums without being in my cpanel please tell me if the only way is with my cpanel then that means its agasint the tos for people to "help" you with your forums...thats what it means..:\

runeps, what you're missing is the difference between 'getting help' and 'having someone else do it for you'. There's nothing wrong with getting help from someone. For example, I use phpbb3 as well. Unfortunately, I haven't really messed with things like modifications or playing with the templates too much. However, if you write back with specifics about what you're trying to do, later tonight I'll look into it and see if I can't figure it out and post back here. That's perfectly fine and dandy, because I'm not accessing your account to help you.

Remember, "my friend did it" is not a valid excuse here, or in life in general.

If you allow anyone access to things in your life, you are responsible for the outcome.

So if your pal uploads warez or porn or stores files for his website on your site, you are the one with the cancelled account. You will get no sympathy from the admins and less from us.
