    Turn of PHP safe mode

Would it be possible to turn off PHP safe mode for my account (adenterprises.x10hosting.com) please?

I have installed Magento, which needs PHP safe mode to be off in order to install updates via the Connect Manager.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

No. Configurations are set at the server level, not at the user level.

I don't believe safe mode is on, I believe the function your software needs is disabled for security reasons. It probably uses exec(), which is an inherently unsafe function for X10.

It's actually uses popen(), which has been disabled. If safe mode is already off, would it be possible to enable popen() please?

Unfortunately, the answer is still no. The list of disabled functions is another php configuration setting that is changed at the server level. Enabling it for you enables it for everyone.

To use this feature of PHP, you'd have to be on a paid server.
