site Offline mysql error 111

The mysql error was: Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet', system error: 111.

Really guys,

My site http://renguray.elementfx.com first went live yesteday and I was the happiest girl on the planet. Unfortunately, my timing cannot be worse because the mysql server was in the middle of an overhaul.

Massive overhaul it seems because until now my site is offline, and all I get is mysql error 111.

I've altered the mysql settings from
(the initial) mysql.x10hosting.com
to mysql.x10hosting
to localhost (this is the server name when I lodg into PHPMyAdmin
to mysql.x10hosting.com (again)
to chopin.mysql to etc etc.
I've tried all possible combinations to no avail.

Debugging is not your job, I know that.
But at least tell me where did I go wrong?

Hello,

The issues with SQL service are solved now, please change you mysql hostname to "localhost" again, it should fix the issue

Okay i tried changing it with code editor but all i get is (see below) after saving it. I've tired about 3 times.

[a fatal error or timeout occurred while processing this directive]



So, I tried to overwrite the settings.php by uploading a fresh one. But somehow, the system keeps on changing the "localhost" to "mysql.x10hosing.com". It won't budge!

same thing happened when I deleted the original file the upload a fresh one.

Use FTP or File Manager to check the permissions on both settings.php and its directory. You may have to (temporarily) change them to edit the file. (755 for dir and 644 for file).
