    Exclamation My websites URL

Ok i have MYBB installed on my site and everything is going pretty much ok.. I think :p but i have this one problem.

I uploaded all my files into a folder called "forum" so when people go to my website if they type in my url

    www.MYSITE.x10hosting.com

it comes up with a page that displays

    Index of /

    • forum/
Meaning that i have to type www.MYSITE.x10hosting.com/forum and it then displays as www.MYSITE.x10hosting.com/forum/index.php.

This sucks ALOT so i tried to move all my files into the root of Public_html and then for some reason i cant login to my forum properly and the admin CP requries a login everytime i do an action. So basically it doesn't work . Is there anyway that i can get it so when type in www.MYSITE.x10hosting.com it takes them to the portal.php and just displays as www.MYSITE.x10hosting.com/portal.php?

I hope this makes sense .

    Re: My websites URL

If you want xxxxx.com or xxxxx.com/ to open portal.php and portal.php is in public_html directory:

    1. In public_html find a file called .htaccess.
    2. Open in an editor
    3. Add the line :

    DirectoryIndex portal.php index.html

This tells Apache (the webserver) that the default page is portal.php which will be sent whenever you just type in the directory. If portal.php is not found, it will look for index.html. You can add more options. Apache takes the first file that matches.

    Nothing is always absolutely so.
