How to Upgrade to Premium Hosting

I currently have a free hosting account with a domain name. I also have an addon domain with that account. Both are registered with x10hosting. I want to upgrade my addon domain to premium hosting. When I try to sign up for premium hosting, it tells me the domain is already registered with x10hosting and that I have to cancel it to upgrade.

Can someone explain to me the process of upgrading an addon domain to premium hosting? I have a feeling I probably have to download all my files, delete my addon domain, create a premium account and upload my files again. Is this right?
