Error Type: 500 Internal Server Error

This comes up every so often when I visit my website! What am I supposed to do about an internal server error? Even my website monitoring service told me it was doing it:

Error Alert

Your Web site is not responding

40 minutes!!!! That's crazy

Try CHMODing to 666, or 755.

I was recompiling Apache and PHP around noon which would have caused that error but it wasn't 40 minutes... let me know if it happens again.

Yeah,i had that problem but no way was it 40min.To be honest i cant even say it was five minutes as in the time it took me to mention it here which was less than that,it was over.
