migrating to x10hosting.com and domain name

    1. can my offshore webmaster get into my acct if I give him my acct information? or will his IP address be recognized as a mismatch disallowing him access?

    2. my site is obviously hosted elsewhere right now. will accessing my account give my webmaster sufficient information to migrate it?

    3. if my site is currently registered thru www.register.com as www.brookbend.com can i keep this exact domain or do i have to add some kind of x10hosting.com suffix to it? i am worried about losing 7 years of SEO at brookbend.com

    4. register.com is asking $38 to renew my domain. does the domain i get thru x10hosting.com
cost money or is it done automatically?

You're not allowed to let people access your account. It's against the rules and it almost never turns out well for you in the end. If your webmaster is going to be the primary person managing the account, he should probably create his own account. You are allowed to give him FTP, email, and mysql access, which is all you need to run the day to day on a website anyway.

If you need help migrating it, we are very happy to help you. It's not hard to do and once you learn you will be able to manage your account more effectively.

You can keep your domain. You must change the nameservers at your registrar to ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com

I don't know the pricing for X10's registrar, but I believe it is only $10/yr to renew your site. You will have to have the domain transferred by requesting your registrar release it and give you an authorization code. X10 will need that code to take over as your registrar. You can always get a free .x10.mx domain, but as you said, you lose SEO in doing so. You can go through the transfer process at http://clients.x10hosting.com, just don't check out. This will confirm the price and the steps how to transfer.

If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.
