    mod_rewrite Apache extension

    Hello,
    i am trying to install elgg on my web server and i am having issue's it seems it may stem from the apache extension mod_rewrite not working properly . i have tried a couple different things with .htaccess files but still cannot get it to work .

    Can you please advise if mod_rewrite is enabled on this web server and is it possible to have it enabled if not ?

    Make sure that you have Rewrite Base / at the top in your .htaccess file.
