Do you block port 25565?

In a PHP script, i use fsock to check if port 25565 is open on a different server.
The problem is it always times out, even when it should be able to make a connection.
Does x10hosting block outgoing traffic on port 25565?
I'm not sure if I did everything right.

And if you do block it, could you suggest to someone that it be unblocked? It's just Minecraft.

All but essential ports are blocked on the free hosts, which a site search would have turned up. "Essential", in this case, means the ports are necessary for the proper functioning of many users' sites in support of the sites' primary purpose. Gaming ports are very unlikely to be unblocked.
