    Proxies?

Hey, I just got suspended for the use of a proxy, but I had absolutely no idea that they were against the rules. Is it possible I can be unsuspended?

    Thank you!

Edit: Just read what you guys said to the other people who made that mistake, nevermind. Its part of the "Zero Tolerance" policy. (As if we would make the same mistake twice...)

Thanks anyways... I'll be sure to recommend this host to my friends.

BUT is it possible you guys could give me a back up of my /learnc/ folder, along with the SQL database? It would be much appreciated.

You people are pretty cold, don'tcha think?

Ohh, yes, they sure do clearly mention them. Within the cluttered text that everyone skips. Don't act like everyone reads that, you know they don't. "Clearly mentioned" is a huge exaggeration, buddy.

You didn't read the part where I edited. I'm only asking for a back up of the folder that was not a proxy.

    Re: Proxies?

You didn't read the TOS at all then?

Cause you marked the box that said you read and agreed to abide by it. You broke the TOS, so no, we will not be providing backups. As the TOS said at the time of your signup, "Backups are the sole responsibility of the customer." If you didn't take any before being suspended, we can't help, as the suspension has removed you as a customer. If that seems harsh or cold, then imagine how we feel - we wrote the TOS, you agreed to it, and then you violated said TOS.

At this point it hardly matters if you actually did read it or not - you marked the box that said you did, so you do have to play by those rules.

TOS breakers will be suspended regardless of race, creed, national origin, hair color, or favorite food. Thanks for your understanding!

I never said that, you did. So your saying you always read the TOS when registering?

Yes, it does seem harsh and cold. You didn't say you had an automated system set up for detecting services Glype, and you didn't give a fair warning. Imagine if the government had lasers set up so if you 'accidentally' did something wrong, you get a warning fire and lose your freedom.

If you really cared about the people on your hosting, you would instead of swing the banhammer on the member every chance you get and shout how the TOS says its fair, give them a warning and remove the files. Makes more sense, doesn't it? Considering the person could be perfectly innocent? Ah, but you geniuses didn't think of that.

Now now, I did read the TOS.

To be used on your servers. When did I USE it on your servers? I extracted it on your servers, and got banned before it even got "used" *

Read the above, and I did play by the rules, thank you.

I'm just saying, is it too much to ask for sympathy? You all seem trigger happy and ready to villainize anyone who slips up, as if they don't deserve respect. Really? You would throw the TOS up in my face just because I ask for a small HARMLESS backup? Nobody has heard of a 'favor' ?

    * I would think.

    Re: Proxies?

You missed one key piece of the TOS sadly.

x10Hosting does not allow any of the following content to be stored on its servers.
Right above the list starting with Illegal Material and including Proxies. The proxy was on the server, you got suspended.

Ticket closed - you are not getting the account back, period. End of story. Your "warning" that you're upset about? That was the TOS itself. That -is- your warning. We've had so many users who just blindly register and then ignore it, we don't have -any- tolerance level anymore, period.

    Re: Proxies?

Forgot to answer one piece of your question.

Whenever I see a box that says "I have read and agree to abide by the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy" or anything similar, yes I do indeed -read- the terms of service and privacy policy. I mean, can you imagine how much it'd suck if it said "You will be required to pay $10 a month or we will sell your information to the highest bidder" ?

I mean, seriously. Especially if I plan on paying for the service, like I do with x10premium
