In the file manger settings, when you check Disable Character Encoding Verification Dialogs the code editor won't open.
You'll need to re-enable the dialog. Click on the "Settings" link in the upper left corner of the file manager (above the toolbar) to access the setting.

Yes, yes, yes, I had done that many times but whenever I enable it and the open a file using the code editor, (no tadda...) nothing happens. No new tab opens, no dialog box.
Well it's just a mild problem. But the dialog is just a little annoying.
I'll just use notepad++ in editing.
