getting 500 internal error

I am getting the following error on my site.

"The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, no-reply@x10hosting.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

I don't know why has this happened may be due to some installed software not been properly installed or any other reason.

Please help as soon as possible.

Are the file permissions correct? Files should be set to 0644 and dirs to 0755
