Mybb verification email problem

Hi everyone, this is my first thread in this forum so if I do anything wrong please correct me.

I've been using x10hosting for some time and I decided to install mybb instead of working with (by that I mean failing) php. And everything seems to work fine except for sending mail to verify new users. My domain is a .co.cc domain and I've been looking through all the other .co.cc email problems and what they used to fix them but nothing works, and it's becoming very frustrating . Here's the basis of what I have to put in.

SMTP hostname: I have this as mail.penterra.co.cc
SMTP port: I tried both 25, 26, and 465
SMTP username: I tried noreply@penterra.co.cc, noreply+penterra.co.cc, and noreply
SMTP password: the password

EDIT: The email will send back and forth manually (using the cpanel's mail system) so the email isn't a problem it's what I'm putting in the fields.
