    403 forbidden

When i try to go to my website all i get is this 403 forbidden error. It says:

You don't have permission to access / on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    Re: 403 forbidden

Check the permissions on your files and folders. Normally every directory in and including public_html should be set to 755. Normal files should be set to 644. If you are using software, you should check with the software author to make sure the permissions you are setting are correct. Some software will require directories are set with less permissions for security and files with more permissions so they can be written by the software as needed.
