Account Suspension

It seems that my hosting account was suspended under the reason that I was hosting game files. Currently the only thing my website hosts is a rendering of my friend's server map and almost entirely consists of image files. I do not believe that this would be cause for account suspension. Please contact me soon, so that we may rectify the situation.

There's two problems involved with game file hosting. Does the game allow the types of files, in this case maps, to be distributed and does the game allow these files that were created by a 3rd party to be used at all? Secondly, if the whole point of this part of your site is just to host files for someone else, that is classified as file hosting or file sharing and is strictly forbidden by X10Hosting Free terms of service.

This almost certainly means the files have nothing to do with your website, which is nonexistent, which almost certainly qualifies you as a file sharing website.

Thank you for the reply. To address the first issue, the images of the map is allowed to be distributed because the maps were generated by us. To address the issue of this being a file hosting it is not as image files are displayed in a similar format as google maps and are not intended to be downloaded. The website will have more pages. I just simply have not had the time to write and upload a proper index page or any of the other webpages.

Thank you, for your quick reply. Just out of curosity, what are we allowed more then 1 GB for? Does this also mean that the only current fault with my website is that the gallery size is too large? (aside from not having much more then a basic index page)

There's some legitimate sites that utilize very large databases that aren't related to galleries or illegal file/image hosting. There's also some users who run several sites off of one account, and on image-laden templates or large forums the space comes in handy. There's also a few who distribute programs and games they have designed and coded -these in particular can be large, and under the file hosting section of the TOS it does allow them to continue utilizing the service.

However, I guarantee any account using that much disk -will- be looked at closely for infractions, just as yours was. I'll admit it's rare to find one using more than 1gb that's actually legitimate, but the possibility exists - we don't suspend on a whim.

Thank you, I will need to make a note to vectorize all my images before up loading. As well I was wondering if flash based websites fall under image/video or the flash arcade section?
