Permission denied to access a file and "read only filesystem" error

My site has been working just fine yesterday, but today it's not. I'm getting a permission denied error on my site (the script opens a file in read-write mode, that's why it's not working in read-only). I thought it might've been an issue with the server migration and the file permissions accidentally got changed, so I checked my cPanel. And everytime I try to touch the file permissions it throws a "read only filesystem" error. Anyway, the permissions appear to be set right in the cPanel, so the problem appears to lie with the server, not my files (before you ask, I don't have any files set to 777).

If it might have anything to do with this issue, I'm also getting a security warning from my browser (about an outdated certificate) when I try to access cPanel, which never happened before.

Thanks, but regardless of that, I would very much like to have my site online again...
