Boru SQL and load times

Hey X10 team,
I've noticed that since the server upgrades, my site has become significantly more unstable. The load times are generally very slow, with quite often a few "The page is temporarily unavailable" and "Error connecting to database" messages appearing. This is happening a lot more frequently than it used to. Our Google Webmaster logs show the differences in page load time quite significantly. The time spent downloading a page chart is shown at midsummernightsball.co.uk/chart.png for you to see what I'm meaning.

EDIT: the website in main use for my account is midsummernightsball.co.uk, which is an add on domain for our original domain avant.elementfx.com
