Mysql problem

I am having a problem with the mysql

i setup a database and username for mysql to use for my phpbb forum

but im always gettin this message

Could not connect to the database, see error message below.
Access denied for user
dont understand why the database name and username is right

even set the port to 21

The MySQL port is 3306.
Did you follow the instructions here on how to create a MySQL database and user? http://x10hosting.com/wiki/How_to_Cr...abase_and_User
Also, the host is "localhost" without the quotes.
