I just noticed this on cPanel

Error Log This function will display the last 300 errors for your site. This can be very useful for finding broken links or problems with missing files. Checking this log frequently can help keep your site running smoothly.

Can someone tell me what this is for? The textarea is just blank but I do get 404 errors etc...

Also how do you trigger an error?
