    help with register_globlals

    hello,

i have a request if you may help me wiht this, it\'s possible to activate the register_globals for a site, i try to activate this from .htaccess but when i access to the web site a message indicates: \"internal server error\"

    i try to do this:
    php_value register_globals 1
    or
    php_flag register_globals on

But it doesn\'t work, and show \"internal server error\"

thank you for the information that can provide me.

    Cordially,

    Fabian Leyton

    Re: help with register_globlals

Register globals is a major security risk for most software, so I have no idea why you would -want- it to be enabled in the first place.

Back in PHP 4.2, the PHP developers changed it to default to "off" instead of on. As of 5.3, register_globals is now depreciated, which basically means it can be removed in any future version at any time without warning.

If you have a script that is still relying on this, I would HIGHLY recommend changing scripts; I'm sure there's a legitimate use for register_globals somewhere, but when the function itself will no longer exist at some point in the future, that's generally a sign that it's time to change to something that -doesnt- require it.

TOS breakers will be suspended regardless of race, creed, national origin, hair color, or favorite food. Thanks for your understanding!
