Constant inetrnal server errors (500 ) when trying to install my joomla guestbook

good morning everone

ive been trying to install the phoca guesbook on my joomla site for a few days now but every time i try to install the application it fails and i get the internal server error page.

ive installed applications like this in the past and theyve been fine i.e using the upload and install from computer link.

is there currently underlying problems with php or maybe a file blocking its instilation?

also on a couple of occasions its installed but not completely as when ive tried to create a guestbook page its given me error messages! usualy php error messages?

im still new to all this guys so please be gentle with me (;-)

Hi,

Some components may not be compatible with our setup. They may be trying to do things in scripts we don't permit. Unfortunately, as your main site works and the script is developed by somebody else, it's more difficult to isolate the problem. You may be best consulting the script's developer for advice.
