    Internal Server Error (again)

One day last week and again most of yesterday I was unable to execute a PHP program due to Internal Server errors. Each time after waiting several hours the problem is miraculously cured and my program executes successfully again without me changing anything.

Several hours ago I managed to execute it successfully.

    Now the message again:

    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, no-reply@x10hosting.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

(incedentally when I tried to email no-reply@x10hosting.com the other day as the message suggests, it failed with The email account that you tried to reach does not exist.)

Please do not give me the standard answer of
500 Internal Server Errors are caused by errors on your account that you can easily fix once you figure out what the error is. The common causes for 500 Internal Server Errors are below:
    1. Permissions. Files MUST be 644 and folders MUST be 755.
    2. Not specifying a RewriteBase when using RewriteRules in .htaccess.
    3. Trying to use php_flag or php_value in .htaccess.

Please see our wiki page for more information.

It is none of those. I have not changed anything. One day it works the next it doesn't then the next it works again. Please can we have some other insight as to what you think is causing the problem. Not being able to execute my module is causing me an issue.

    Re: Internal Server Error (again)

    Hello,

There was an issue with one of starka's webservers that was fixed a few minutes ago by the admins that caused these errors intermittently for some users. Are you still experiencing these errors even after flushing your browser cache?

    Re: Internal Server Error (again)

I just tried again and it worked.

Please can you give us an insight into what was causing the actual problem? It would be nice to have it documented so that if it happens again we will know the reason.

    Re: Internal Server Error (again)

It was an issue with one of starka's webservers, so nothing on your end that was the issue this time (although as per the "default" response, this is NOT normally the case). It has since been fixed, and hopefully will not happen again

EDIT: I just realized I already said that, which meant that you wanted more specifics. Basically, some misbehaving apache processes were hogging all the memory so apache needed rebooting

    Re: Internal Server Error (again)

    Many thanks for the information.

I would just like to add that I think you guys do a great job

It seems the fix may not have been a permanent fix. It is throwing the same error again. So does Apache need rebooting again?
