installing phpbb3

hey guys thanks for this very nice webhost.
but here is the thing
I uploaded phpbb3 today, all fine, I went to my /forum page and there it was, no problem.
I got back to my ftp to change permissions on some maps so I could install the forum like its supposed to.
after I did that, I got an 500/505 error, internal server error.
deleted and re-uploaded my forum for like 6 times now, and now it will inmediately give me the error message when I try to go to index.php.
I got no clue on how to fix this. can you guys help me out a little? Im like wtf right now.

Please fix your permissions: files MUST be 644 and folders MUST be 755. No exceptions.
