Blasted High cpu

I think that x10 needs to get rid of this darned high cpu suspension thing because those of us who like this website and would like to use it and also have a photo gallery like coppermine and use the batch file upload feature on it should be able to without getting a darned high cpu suspension.

I think that alot of people dont like the high cpu suspension thing and no one wants it.



just a suggestion anyway. it would make x10 way better.

I have to say it wouldn't make x10 way better. I can actually -see- the logs for who gets suspended and why.

Trust me, when a rogue script that is either poorly coded or intentionally malicious takes the server to 99% cpu usage for over 30 seconds, that's bad. There's a reason it's in place, and that's because it is possible for one account to cripple the entire server if it isn't enabled.


It's not an option we WANT to have enabled, but we don't have much of a choice with the amount of abuse we get. I gather that quite a few scripts hitting it wouldn't actually cripple the server normally, but you'd be surprised how many HRU logs we get that show insane amounts of cpu.
