Odd mod_rewrite Issue: Address bar not showing correct URL

I uploaded a .htaccess file onto my account which I have used many times on multiple servers without any issue.

http://fourseventy.com/contact/ is a rewriterule that redirects to http://fourseventy.com/index.php?x=contact.

The links work fine, except that the address bar is showing the ?x=contact instead of /contact/

Any thoughts?

Edit: Can't use the links since I deleted the .htaccess trying to replace it and got the 552 Disk Full error.

Are you also using RewriteBase / ? It's usually essential to use with the rewrite rules in order for them to work properly.
